How To Wear Shorts This Summer...!!

Somehow shorts have been historically associated with boys more than men; having being taken as a school uniform for young lads in the earlier days.
The trend of grown men wearing shorts outside of extremely hot climates didn't begin until after World War II, when the soldiers stationed in the tropics were issued shorts both for comfort and rationing cloth. In the post-war years, shorts caught on as a specific uniform for some sports, not intended to be worn outside of the athletic activity.

Shorts, as a piece of casual summer wear for men, did not come into fashion until the 1950s. It was then that the fashion trend began to be championed by Hollywood trend setters that the idea came to be percolated throughout the American society, after which, of course, it traveled throughout the world. We give you a primer on how to pull of this ubiquitous summer style with élan:

Where to Wear

Shorts are ideal where the occasion calls for casual / tropical fashion. They are the best thing to wear with your posse. Whether it is going to the mall or a house party with close friends, you can wear them when you don't have to meet anyone new outside of your friend circle. Shorts can also be worn for outdoor activities of all kinds.

The length

The best length for shorts is a little above the knee. Your shorts should just reveal a little bit of the knee. Anything past the knee is not really a short, but a half-pant which trust us, doesn't look flattering at a social setting.

Cargo Can Go

First things first, the baggier your shorts are, the heavier you will look.  Second, your safari shorts with their tens of pockets are cool for a camping trip but nothing else beyond that. If you seriously want to look stylish, you must chuck this fashion faux pas no sooner than you read this.

The Hot Shorts

The best shorts one can pick that look suave socially are the Bermuda shorts. They are simple half-trousers in crisp colors and nice fits that look dressy and casual in the same instance. Try to avoid patterned shorts as they are more difficult to play match with.

The shirts that go with shorts

Pair your Bermuda shorts with either a polo shirt or a casual shirt and don't hesitate to add a nice belt to it too. And with those classic Ray bans, you will look like the latest J Crew model off the ramp.

The shoes

Loafers, loafers, loafers! No chappals as they will look too casual. For a second option, you can also wear sandals. But no formal shoes please.

The Best Color Combinations

Wear black shorts with monochromatic shirts. Wear brown ones with shirts in blue, white, etc. Wear pastel colored shorts with white, and remember to play the game of contrasts really well. And don't hide behind the color black that half of your gender wears as a uniform. Choose brighter colors to stand out.

Your Guide to Jeans in 2014

Jeans are timeless classics that are always in style. They’re a timeless classic that are always in style; one of the toughest, most versatile pieces of clothing on the market. However, even the timeless go through reinvention and this is exactly what has happened to the good ol’ pair of jeans over the last few years.
Last year was all about bright colours; but 2014, goes back to being tame and subtle. FITZSTUDIO tells you exactly what to expect this year in terms of style and colour.

The Fit

Your-Guide-to-Jeans-in-2014
If the Spring-Summer collections are anything to go by, slim fitting jeans are the way to go this year. Even though they’re cut close to your body, they allow for breathing space along your legs. You can ask the shop assistant for a straight fit or a slightly tapered fit. Even though these fits are slim, they allow you for a little bit of room, giving you a relaxed look and feel.
Ensure that the length of your jeans don’t ruin your fit. Confused? Well, in case your jeans are too long, they’ll end-up bunching at your ankles. While folding the bottom is an option, we suggest that you get the length altered. Folding is tacky and it ruins the fit. You can have your jeans hemmed at the end of your ankles; if you’d rather wear them slightly longer, then allow the, about an inch and a half below your ankles, nothing more.
Skinny jeans and baggy jeans are a no-no. Shelf them or burn them while you go slim in 2014.

A Little Fade Will Do You Good

Your Guide to Jeans in 2014
Washing jeans can be stressful, especially when you’re trying to hold in colour. However, allow yourself a slight fade this year, because shirts are slated to be colourful and floral. Washed-out, rugged jeans make for a perfect combination. When we talk about washed-out, we’re referring to jeans that have a slight fade, nothing more, nothing less.
No major fades and acid washes, please.

Go Subtle

Your Guide to Jeans in 2014
2014 is all about deep blues, earthy greens and rich but subtle burgundy. When it comes to jeans, bright, bright colours have all but found their way out.
In fact for all the confusion that white denim brings with it, the colour (yes, white is a colour!) is making a comeback, albeit a very slow one. Even though white jeans have been looked down upon for time immortal, they’re one of the most versatile colours you can own. All colours go with white, so you don’t have a problem teaming your shirts, and depending on the look you want to carry off; you can choose your colour.
Team your white denims with a linen jacket for the summer and you have an ensemble that switches from work to play and work again, if you so desire.
Besides, since 2014 is all about going back to earthy colour where your denims are concerned, white does add that much-needed bit of brightness in your jeans wardrobe.
